FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - The Pumpkin Patch
WHAT KIND OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept cash, a good check, and credit or debit cards using Square.
DO YOU CHARGE ADMISSION?
Nope! You are welcome to come to the farm without charge. However, to keep admission free, we have to sell lots of pumpkins! So give in to your inner child and go a little overboard out in the patch!
DO YOU HAVE WAGONS THAT PEOPLE CAN USE WHILE VISITING THE FARM?
Yes! We have wagons that will help you bring in your selection of pumpkins, gourds and squash. However, on a busy day they may all be in the patch. Our wagons are not designed for carrying children. We strongly recommend not using them to carry children. You assume all risk and responsibility for the safety of your child if you choose to allow them to ride in the wagon. You are welcome to bring your own wagon or stroller for the kids.
ARE YOU OPEN DURING THE WEEK?
Just Fridays and on weekends. We apologize if that is an inconvenience for you but its one of the things we do to try and make sure that we run the patch and it does not end up running us.
DO YOU HAVE ACTIVITIES FOR THE KIDS?
Yes! We are a working farm, with pigs, chickens and our family dairy cows and her calves. You are welcome to go into the barn and meet them for yourself. We also pride ourselves on creating an exploration into our Pumpkin Patch, complete with a Milo Maze, a rainbow field of cut flowers, U-Pick Indian Corn, our Giant Bench for photos, our Hay Bale couple in the Land of the Giants and the Lookout Tower. We also have a kids area in our hoop barn that changes year to year. Come and see for yourself. To the best of our knowledge, no child has left disappointed.
DO YOU HAVE FOOD FOR SALE?
We have a concession stand with snacks and sandwiches from our farm: Pork Chop Sandwich $6, Pork Burger Sandwich $5, Kettle Corn $5, Sliced Caramel Apples $6, Apple Cider Slushies $3-5, Bottled Water $1
ARE YOU OPEN ON RAINY DAYS?
We will plan to be open as long as the conditions in the patch allow. Please call to be sure or check our Facebook page for up-to-date weather info. We can not allow you to be out in the patch during lightning.
DO YOU HAVE RESTROOMS?
We have handicapped accessible port-a-johns on site for your convenience.
IS THE FARM WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
We have closer parking for those in a wheelchair or who have trouble getting around. We also have a handicap port-a-john located near the parking lot.
The pumpkin patch has been tilled before planting and is covered in vines and the path is uneven and bumpy. It is not well suited for the unsteady walker. If you have trouble, feel free to buy from the great selection in our pumpkins, gourds and squash already picked.
DO YOU OFFER BULK DISCOUNT OR WHOLESALE PRICES?
We do not sell our produce wholesale nor do we take orders or hold product.
ARE YOU ORGANIC?
No, we are not organic. However, we do take very seriously the when, why and what we are spraying for.
DO YOU HAVE EDIBLE PUMPKINS AND SQUASH?
Yes! We have pumpkins perfect for making pies. We also have a wide selection of squash for eating, from the traditional acorn squash & butternut squash to unique delicious varieties of blue doll, sun spot and delicata (looks like a pickle and tastes like buttery potatoes).
DO YOU OFFER HAY RIDES OR TRAMS TO THE FIELD?
No, our farm is a self-led experience. Come prepared to walk.
DO YOU OFFER FIELD TRIPS?
We have made the difficult decision not to offer guided field trips. For our family and our schedule, we just can't do it all. There are just not enough hours in the day. We do open at 10:00am on Fridays, and you are welcome to bring your class out during our normal business hours.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
No. For the safety of our animals and yours, please do NOT bring your dog or other pets (other than ADA registered dogs) to Greene Fields Farm.
DO WE ALLOW PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS?
No. To maintain the atmosphere we want for our farm, we no longer allow professional photography sessions on our farm.
NO SMOKING (anywhere on the farm). NO VAPING.
ABSOLUTELY NO DRONES
